When does it ship?

What if it's not for me?
You have 30 days from delivery. If the egg doesn't fit your life, send it back undamaged – you get the purchase price back and only cover return postage. We're fairly sure you'll keep it.
Does Yeara work with my phone?
Yes, Yeara works on iPhone and Android. On iPhone you need iOS 16.4 or later, and locking uses Apple's official Screen Time feature, without tricks. On Android you need a phone with NFC.
What if I need a locked app while I'm out?
Then take your egg along – the Mini fits in a pocket or handbag. To open an app, you take it out: just enough effort that you don't unlock on reflex. For real emergencies without the egg, the app gives you five emergency unlocks that are never topped up.
Can I get around the lock?
Yes, with one of the five emergency unlocks. Yeara makes unlocking inconvenient, not impossible. It takes longer than tapping “Ignore”. That pause turns a reflex into a decision.
Does less phone time actually help?
Early studies suggest it may. A randomized study found better attention and well-being after two weeks without mobile internet on phones (Castelo et al., PNAS Nexus, 2025). Students who limited Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat to 10 minutes each daily for three weeks felt less lonely and less depressed than the comparison group (Hunt et al., Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, 2018). Yeara itself was not tested in these studies.
How do you get to 20 years?
Four and a half hours a day on the phone. Not estimated, but measured: the British media regulator Ofcom tracks smartphone use through a measurement panel and finds 5 hours 5 minutes a day among 18- to 24-year-olds in 2025, and 4 hours 32 minutes among 25- to 34-year-olds. That counts time online only — camera, calls and offline apps come on top.
Why Britain? Because that's where it gets measured. For Switzerland, phone screen time is nowhere collected and published. What does exist points to more, not less: the University of Zurich finds 5 hours 42 minutes online per day across all devices in 2025, and 8 hours 24 among 20- to 29-year-olds.
From your own smartphone at fifteen to your eighty-fifth birthday, that's 70 years. Measured against 16 waking hours a day: 4½ ÷ 16 × 70 ≈ 20 years of waking life.
How do the Original and the Mini differ?
Only in size: the Original is 9 cm tall, the Mini 5 cm. Both are made of real obsidian, and the technology is identical – each one locks just as reliably.
Do I decide what gets locked?
You decide which apps to lock. They stay locked until you touch the egg. Phone, messages, maps, camera and everything you really need stay available.
Does the egg need power or Wi-Fi?
No. No battery, no charging, no updates. Inside the egg is an NFC chip – the same technology as contactless payment. Your phone wakes it when you touch it.
What is the egg made of?
Real obsidian – a volcanic stone that forms when lava cools so fast that no crystals grow. Each egg is ground and polished from a single piece and feels smooth and cool in the hand.
What about my data?
No ads. We never sell or share your data or analyze your behavior for third parties. Your blocked app choices stay on your phone. We never receive them.
