Yeara App

The Yeara app belongs to the Yeara egg. Choose the apps and websites that should sleep. Then lift the egg and set its flat bottom on the top edge of your iPhone. From now on Apple's Screen Time keeps the chosen apps closed. The same touch opens them again.

The app belongs to the Yeara egg and only works with it. Which apps you choose stays on your iPhone. We see neither your selection nor your usage.

  • Screen Time access – you allow it during setup

Set up in three steps

  1. Sign in
    Enter your email address. You get a code, no password.
  2. Allow Screen Time and choose apps
    Allow access when your iPhone asks. Then choose the apps and websites that should sleep.
  3. Touch the egg
    Set the bottom of the egg on the top edge of your iPhone. The first touch links the egg to your account. From now on it locks and opens your apps.

Questions and answers

I declined Screen Time access. What now?
Without Screen Time, Yeara can't lock anything. Open the app and allow access again when your iPhone asks. You can revoke it at any time in the iOS Settings under Screen Time.
How do I pair my egg?
Nothing to set up. Set the bottom of the egg on the top edge of your iPhone. The first touch links the egg to your account.
Can I use one egg with several iPhones?
Yes. One egg can lock and open several iPhones, and you can pair several eggs with one account. On each iPhone, the first touch is all it takes.
The egg isn't nearby. How do I get to my apps?
With an emergency unlock in the app. You have five per account, for good. They are not refilled. Once they are used up, only the egg opens.
What happens if I delete the app or switch iPhones?
Deleting the app lifts the lock, because iOS removes the app's Screen Time settings with it. Reinstall the app or install it on the new iPhone, sign in with the same email address, and your modes and your egg are back.
What data does Yeara store?
Your email address, the names of your modes and how many apps they contain, which egg is linked to your account, the start and end of your lock sessions, the number of your emergency unlocks, and your device model, iOS version and language setting. Never which apps you chose – that stays on your iPhone. More in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my account?
In the app under Settings › Account › Delete account. Your account and all associated data are removed immediately and permanently.
I lost my egg.
Write to us at hello@yeara.co. If your apps are locked right now, an emergency unlock opens them.
What does the app cost?
The app comes in two versions. Yeara Free costs nothing, permanently: choose your apps, lock them with the egg, open them again. Yeara Pro costs something and does more; the egg includes the first year of Pro. After that you stay on Pro or continue for free with Free. Details are set out in the terms of sale (German). Without an egg the app does not work; you order it at yeara.co.
